Marmalade or Jam Sauce Recipe


2 tbsp jam or marmalade
1/4 pt water
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp arrowroot or cornflour
colouring (optional)


1 Simmer jam or marmalade, water, sugar and lemon juice for 7-10 minutes.
2 Strain the liquid. Blend arrowroot or cornflour with a tablespoon of
cold water to a smooth paste.
3 Add hot liquid to the paste. Return to the pan and boil for 3 minutes.
Colour if desired.
